China is one of the world's largest plastics markets, yet the potential remains extraordinary. The development of plastics consumption in China has been extraordinary, growing at over 20% per annum whilst plastics product production has doubled over the last 5 years.
The demand for plastic materials in China is so large that the local output of plastics materials and resins can only satisfy 50% of market demand. As a result, China must import large quantities of plastics materials each year. With a population of approximately 1.4 billion, the potential for the plastics industry is staggering!
The 22nd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (Chinaplas 2008) will rotate back to Shanghai. The exhibition area of Chinaplas 2008 is expected to reach 120,000 sqm with over 1,700 exhibitors showcasing their innovative machines and new technologies.
