CHINAPLAS is the largest plastics and rubber event in the Asia Pacific region and one of the top 5 International Plastics shows in the world.
Attracting between 55,000 and 60,000 visitors year on year and with exhibitors flocking from all over the world to take part Chinaplas has become a key show for any serious exporter.
Guangzhou is the centre of the Chinese plastics industry, with the province of Guangdong (of which Guangzhou is the capital) accounting for 24% of the Chinese output of plastics products in 2005.

China - The World's Fastest Growing Market |
CHINAPLAS is the perfect gateway into the WORLDS FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY, an economy that offers huge trade and investment opportunities for UK Companies.
China is one of the world's largest plastics markets, yet the potential remains extraordinary. The development of plastics consumption in China has been extraordinary, growing by 21.1% in 2003 to 27.5 million tonnes (approximately 6 times that of the UK).
The demand for plastic materials in China is so large that the local output of plastics materials and resins can only satisfy 50% of market demand. As a result, China must import large quantities of plastics materials each year. With a population of approximately 1.4 billion, the potential for the plastics industry is staggering!

Chinaplas - Previous Shows |
Chinaplas is increasing in size every year, with the previous show attracting 60,000 visitors and 1,400 exhibitors (with around half of the exhibitors coming from outside of China).

UK Trade and Investment Grants |
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) make available grants to companies exhibiting at Trade Shows and it is perceived that grants will be available at Chinaplas 2007 for companies exhibiting as part of the SOLO Grant scheme. It is perceived this will be made available to companies meeting the definitions of 'Small and Medium Sized Enterprise' (i.e. less than 249 employees and a annual turnover not exceeding EURO50m) and 'New To Market' (i.e. a business not having exported to the country where the exhibition is taking place within the previous 12 months and normally having no established representation there).
HOWEVER please note that at time of writing UKTI have not yet published the terms and condition which will govern the grants available for Chinaplas 2007 and as a result the availability of grants is purely speculative.
