Queens University Programme
Holding the 2008 ARMO Conference in Belfast allows delegates to take advantage of the resources of Queen’s University, a worldwide centre of excellence in Rotational Moulding. In conjunction with the BPF Rotamoulding Group, the Queen’s University has organised two practical rotational moulding seminars which will be held on the 6th and 7th September in advance of the main Conference.

Seminar One
Title: Queens University Advanced Rotational Moulding Seminar
Date: 9am-5pm on Saturday September 6th 2008
Venue: Queens University, Ashby Building, Stranmillis Road, Belfast

Seminar Overview
This seminar will begin with Rotational Moulding - The Principles, covering the background to the process with lots of examples of new, exciting and award winning rotomoulded parts from around the world. It will also include an in-depth study on the anatomy of the rotomoulding cycle, heating and cooling mechanisms, as well as the science behind the formation and removal of bubbles and pinholes. The range of rotomoulding machinery and moulds will also be illustrated.

The following session will move onto Rotational Moulding - Influences Over the Process, which will determine the effects on mechanical properties of different colour blending methods, as well as the mechanisms and control of shrinkage and warpage. After lunch the session moves onto Rotational Moulding – Advanced Technologies, where rotomoulding materials, grinding technology and powder quality will be discussed. This session will also detail the range of rotational moulding foaming methods available as well as in-mould pressurisation, cooling techniques and future development trends for the industry.

Cost: £399 (this includes lunch / refreshments and a copy of ‘Practical Guide to Rotational Moulding’ course notes)
(Aimed at  Directors, Supervisors, Engineers, Designers)

Seminar Two
Title: Queens University Practical Rotational Moulding Seminar
Date: 9.00am-2.00pm on Sunday September 6th 2008
Venue: Queens University, Ashby Building, Stranmillis Road, Belfast

Seminar Overview
This practical rotomoulding seminar will begin with the fundamental principles of rotational moulding covering the background and basics to the process with lots of examples of new and award winning rotomoulded parts from around the world. The latest developments in tooling and rotomoulding machines will also be discussed. Delegates are then split into teams for practical demonstrations and discussions on powder quality testing, powder grinding, colour blending methods, multi-layer rotomoulding technology and foam rotomoulding. The use and benefits of in-mould temperature monitoring techniques will also be demonstrated and discussed.

Workshop Details:
Workshop A – Demonstrations and discussions of Rotomoulding Technology / In-Mould temperature monitoring / Moulds / Machines / Part Quality
Workshop B – Demonstrations and discussions of Powder Quality / Powder testing / Grinding Technology / Colour blending techniques / Multi-layer rotomoulding

Seminar Cost: £299 (this includes lunch / refreshments and a copy of ‘Practical Guide to Rotational Moulding’ course notes)
(Aimed at  Supervisors, Operators, those new to Rotomoulding – limited to max 20 delegates only)
