Arabplast is the Middle East’s leading International Plastic & Rubber trade event, attracting 326 exhibiting companies from 38 countries and 9,657 visitors at its last showing.

ArabPlast 2007 serves the Middle East market effectively through its wide spectrum of technological innovations, machinery, equipments/parts, products & services from the plastic & rubber industry. Undoubtedly, ArabPlast is the ideal business environment for companies to identify foster business relationships.

ArabPlast will return to Dubai International Exhibition Centre from 13-16 January 2007 & will comprise an area gross exhibition of 17500 sqm.

A boom in the UAE's construction section is driving the demand for plastic products and with the continual expansion of the non-oil economy, demand for plastic products has grown steadily. This has lead to a growth in plastic production which has, over time, reduced dependence on imports. 

The industry expanded rapidly in the 1990's and continues to grow today.  Amonst Dubai's key characteristics:

    - Domestic imports total $17bn annually
    - Acts as Gateway to $150 bn regional import market
    - Dubai's imports have more than doubled since 1989
    - Strategic location at the heart of one of the world's richest regions
    - Wide import requirements; opportunities for suppliers of most products
    - An accessible market - served by more than 170 shipping lines and 86 airlines
    - An open market no  exchange controls, quotas or trade barriers

The BPF is dedicated to maximising the impact of UK Exhibitors at key trade shows.  At Arabplast the BPF will be coordinating the UK Pavilion and using the organisers ‘Superior Package’ have put together a cost effective stand package that will ensure the UK Plastics Sector has a strong visual presence at Arabplast.

The cost of this stand package is $US400 per sqm.  With a minimum stand size of 9sqm

the BPF charge a minimal management fee which covers the full range of services offered below, this management fee is £420 for members and £550 for non-members

The British Plastics Federation have successfully applied for Government funding for Arabplast.  This will mean that eligible companies meeting the meeting the ‘New to Market’ and ‘SME’ definitions (edited highlights below, full details upon request) will be entitled to receive £1,800 in government grants to attend the show.

New to Market  - A business not having exported to the country where the exhibition is taking place within the previous 12 months and normally having no established representation there.

SME Definition -  Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are defined as those matching the requirements at A, B and C below...

a)  Has less than 250 employees.
b)   Has an annual turnover not exceeding € 50m, or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding € 43m.
c)   Is independent, i.e. not more than 25 % of its capital or voting rights are owned by one enterprise

The BPF is dedicated to ensuring that UK exhibitors get the best from Arabplast.  The BPF have put together a comprehensive package of support including:

Project Management Support—managed by experienced BPF staff on hand before, during and after the exhibition.  Including:

  -  Assistance with freight &  travel plans  
  -  Support in dealing with organisers  
  -  Deadline Reminder Service

Marketing Through UK Group Guide - Copies will be widely distributed before, during and after the show

BPF links with International Trade Associations in key world markets will be activated, as will contacts with UK Government officials in market

Redirection of Customer and Enquiries by members of the BPF team who will be at the show and will redirect enquiries from potential customers to your stand

Media Relations Support – Through a strong international press network and in-house media relations resource the BPF will project the British Group globally.  The team will also be on hand to support companies in the Group with their individual press activities

Provision of Amenities at Show -  Including free internet, tel/fax facilities and refreshments from BPF stand

Strong Web Promotion - A webpage hosted on the BPF site will feature product information on all
companies in the group (the BPF website is currently number 1 for the term ‘plastics’ on
www.google.com)

Provision of Marketing Information Pack - Information will be  provided to companies to assist them  in effectively projecting themselves in the Middle East

Networking Opportunities - A number of networking opportunities will be arranged by the BPF both before and during the show
