The PET Bottle Group's mission is to be the UK platform for PET bottle manufacturers, and under the umbrella of the BPF, address the business challenges and issues facing the sector.  These issues can be wide-ranging and include environmental matters such as recycling.

Members are major contributors to the UK economy, producing PET packaging products such as bottles and preforms for soft drinks, mineral water, and a range of household and industrial products.

The Group's Business Plan seeks to address the various challenges and includes action on the following key points:

  • The Business : to agree on a common approach to macro-level
    issues such as legislation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility : to ensure effective communication of a socially responsible sector
  • Image : to initiate rapid and effective response to media hype and
    ensure positive reputation management
  • Research and Technology : to attract public sector support to set
    up projects and activities focused on developing environmental objectives
  • Markets and Trends : to gain an insight into sector trends and
    increase its knowledge base
  • Supply Chain Management and Stakeholder Dialogue: to engage with other stakeholders, to access their expertise and address industry and environmental issues together
