BPF Energy and The British Plastics Federation are in the final stages of entering into a Climate Change Agreement (BPF CCA)with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for the Plastics Sector. This will allow companies with a qualifying site to claim an 80% discount from their energy supplier on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) which they pay on electricity and LPG. EligibilityThe Climate Change Agreement applies to all Plastics Processing Companies who's sites must be based in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. They must also meet one of the eligibility criteria set out by DEFRA. For information on whether your company is eligible please CLICK HERE |

How To RegisterTo register your company's interest in the Climate Change Agreement, you must complete the BPF1 form FOUND HERE as soon as possible and email it to climatechange@bpf.co.ukIf you get in early and start your application now, then you may benefit from the discount as of the entry date of 1st October 2009. The absolute cut-off for accepting completed applications for the current scheme year is 31st October 2009 and if you miss this deadline then the next entry point to the scheme will be 1 April 2011. Missing this deadline could result in losing £000s of pounds for your business, in addition getting in NOW may mean your company avoids obligations under the Carbon Reduction Commitment. |

Partner Fee InformationTo calculate the BPF CCA Partners Fees relevant to your organisation, please download the form (BPF2) found HERE Members of the British Plastics Federation receive a 50% discount on their CCA Partner Fees. |

DeadlineCompanies who get in early may benefit as early as October 1st 2009. The final deadline is 31st October 2009 – companies missing this will not be able to join until 1st April 2011. Due to the amount of companies expected to apply, companies should start the process now to ensure they can qualify for these substantial savings! |

AdministrationWhilst you are at liberty to use any advisor to help you prepare your application and help you meet scheme targets on energy reduction, Inenco will be the only BPF Scheme Administrator and all applications to participate in the Scheme will be channelled through Inenco to DECC. |
