BPF Welcomes 2009 Budget
The BPF's recent lobbying work has borne fruit in the 2009 Budget and the BPF's recommendation that Climate Change Agreements based on electricity only be introduced is incorporated in the Chancellor's statement.

K 2010 registration deadline reminder- 31st of May 2009
K 2010 is the world's largest plastics event and will take place between 27th October to 3rd November 2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The official deadline for stand booking is 31st May 2009 and with a large demand on space, we strongly recommend submitting registration forms as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The British Plastics Federation is running a British Pavilion in Hall 12 and 5 offering cost effective and high quality stand packages at £91 per sqm.

'The Guardian' Supplement on Plastics

Opportunity for BPF Members to speak at Seminars in China and Poland
The BPF is organising seminar programmes to promote UK excellence at Chinaplas (18th - 21st May, Guangzhou, China) and Plastpol (26th - 29th May, Kielce, Poland). The seminar at Chinaplas will take place on the 18th May between 2pm - 5pm. The presentations at Plastpol are more flexible and are taking place on the BPF stand - dates will be arranged to suit speakers needs. The Quality Protocol for the manufacture of secondary raw materials from non-packaging plastics has been launched by the Environment Agency. The aim of the Quality Protocol is to provide collectors, recyclers and processors with clear guidance, which will assure the quality and consistency of secondary raw materials from waste non-packaging plastics. Construction Products Association Press Release: Construction industry suffering
The Construction Products Association has issued a press release detailing the downturn in the construction market place. Forecasts for the coming year indicate the industry will suffer a 12% fall in construction output - the worst on record, followed by a further fall of 3.4% in 2010.
