Wherever large numbers of people gather closely together, the chances of cross infection increase significantly. Offices, especially those that are open plan or where the windows are sealed are now known to be responsible for a combination of ailments known as sick building syndrome.

Specifying Biomaster into building materials such as walls, floors, door handles, radiators, worktops and air conditioning units of buildings gives them long term and effective antimicrobial properties, reducing the overall level of harmful bacteria in the environment and the likelihood of cross contamination.

Silver Ion Technology

Silver is a natural antimicrobial and has been used for centuries to prevent the growth of bacteria without the high toxicity to humans that have normally associated with some other metals.

Biomaster is built into the product either during manufacture or as a post treatment and works to kill bacteria in three ways. Silver ions bind to and damage the bacteria cell wall preventing growth, stop bacteria from producing energy and interrupt the DNA preventing replication.

If a bacteria cell cannot grow, produce energy or replicate, it dies.

Versatile

Biomaster formulations are diverse and cover all processes and polymers from low melting point EVA to high temperature PEEK. There are even grades for clear polymers such as polycarbonate and general purpose polystyrene.

Inorganic and non-leaching, unlike organic antimicrobial technologies Biomaster becomes an integral part of the polymer into which it is added and is formulated to last the lifetime of the finished product.

Trusted and Tested

Biomaster is listed on the Biocidal Product Regulation No. 528/2012, registered with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

We work closely with competent authorities, leading industry experts in order to be at the forefront of the regulatory landscape.

Tested on over 2,000 applications, Biomaster is in-organic and non-leaching and proven to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria such as Campylobacter, MRSA, E.coli, Listeria,  Salmonella and many other species by up to 99.99%.
