This one day seminar, now in its 13th year, provides a UK forum for discussing new and future developments relevant to the UK PVC supply chain. This years programme puts particular emphasis on the latest sustainability programmes and initiatives which are contributing to the view of the UK PVC Industry as an essential part of the environmental future of UK industry.

This seminar will provide delegates with further information on both the voluntary industry commitments securing the future of PVC products and the current developments that are cementing the view of PVC as an essential material in modern day life.

This seminar will be of particular interest to specifiers and those involved in sales and marketing activities related to PVC products.

Speaker Biographies:

Stefan Eingartner, VinylPlus
Stefan worked for almost 30 years until the end 2007 in the plastics conversion business, mainly rigid films. Since 2008 Stefan has been a consultant.
Stefan has been consulting the PVC industry in Europe and Vinyl 2010 on the potential set up and strategy of a new 10 year Voluntary commitment.

Jane Gardner, Axion Consulting
Jane Gardner is a Senior Consultant for Axion Consulting, who are the UK agents for Recovinyl. Jane has worked for Axion for 5 years as part of the UK Recovinyl team and has been involved in setting up Recofloor the Vinyl Take Back Scheme.

Philip Law, British Plastics Federation
Philip Law is the Public & Industrial Affairs Director at the British Plastics Federation, the UK Plastics Association, with more than 400 members. Philip was born in Lancaster, England, in 1954 and he holds qualifications from the Universities of Nottingham, York and Oxford. Philip joined the BPF in 1978 and in 2008 he was honoured with the award for Personal Contribution to the Plastics Industry at the Plastics Industry Awards.

He is a former Chairman of the European Plastics Converters Association's Environment Committee in Brussels.

Jason Leadbitter, INEOS Chlorvinyl
Jason has had 24 years experience working within the PVC industry, most of that time with his former employer Hydro Polymers and now in a much larger capacity as Sustainability and Compliance Manager at INEOS ChlorVinyls, Europe’s largest PVC producer.  He has an active European role in a number of trade associations, especially on environmental and waste management issues.  He is the current Chairman of the Controlled-Loop Recycling Committee of VinylPlus – the European PVC industry voluntary commitment.
 
Jason is the author of a number of books and publications especially on issues relating to sustainability.  He has an Honours Degree in Materials Science and a PhD in Polymer Chemistry (Bradford University).  He has been an honorary lecturer at several universities including Strathclyde University, Scotland and BTH University, Sweden and visiting lecturer at Birmingham, Aston, Manchester, Loughborough Universities in the UK as well as INSEAD Fontainebleau, France and Nyenrode Business School, The Netherlands.  He has a strong interest in ecological issues and was awarded a Diploma in Sustainability from Cambridge University as well being a Chartered Environmentalist.

Roger Mottram, BPF Vinyls Group Chairman, INEOS Chlorvinyls
Roger joined ICI in 1984 after graduating with First Class Honours in Materials Science from Bradford University and has worked in the chemicals and polymers industry ever since. Roger's first involvement with the PVC industry was in 1989 when he was seconded from ICI to European Vinyls Corporation.

Roger has held a variety of technical, commercial and communication roles, but has specialised in environmental and regulatory affairs and sustainable development activities for the PVC industry during the last 16 years. With the coming together of INEOS Chlor and INEOS Vinyls in 2006 the environmental and regulatory affairs role has been extended to cover all chlor-alkali products.

Roger is currently active on many industry committees especially with the BPF, ECVM, PlasticsEurope, EuroChlor and ECSA. A founder member and participant in the BPF Vinyls Group and the VinylSUM network. 

Image Sarah Plant, British Plastics Federation
Sarah has worked for the British Plastics Federation for over five years and currently holds the position of Senior Executive - Industrial Issues. Sarah has an Honours Degree in Biomedical Materials Science from the University of Nottingham and acts as secretariat for the BPF's Vinyls Group.
