The Chancellor George Osborne announced today that the 3p a litre rise in fuel duty in August has been cancelled.
BPF Director-General Peter Davis welcomed this “In February the Seven Associations, led by the BPF asked the Chancellor to cancel the August fuel duty increase. We are very glad he has cancelled the Fuel Duty increase. Our companies should benefit in their transport costs from lower oil prices. Had it gone ahead this tax increase would have reversed that.
It’s a critical time for UK manufacturing and it’s important not to increase taxes on companies.”
